Omni-X: staying ahead of the curve OMNI-X is a manufacturer of tube bending and end forming tools with locations in Denver, USA; Queretaro, Mexico; and Brno, Czech Republic, which enable it to offer its machines across the globe. Its European base in the Czech Republic has extended its production area by 500m 2 . This extra space was available for use from December 2017. The extra space will allow the company to invest in new equipment. Machines that have been earmarked will be the most sophisticated on the market, such as five-axis machining centres and multifunction lathes that combine both milling and turning in one process. This will help reduce manufacturing time on the tooling. With this new space and the purchase of new capital equipment, staffing levels will increase significantly from current levels of approximately 86 people. Omni-X has also successfully finalised a new production cell that is dedicated to the production of end-forming tooling. This is run independently from the tube bending section so the lead times on end forming are not affected by its tube bending tooling production. This is currently working on a two- shift operation. The company also produces its own mandrel links. This range also has its own manufacturing cell, which produces mandrel links from size 1 to 13. Omni-X serrated links are claimed to ensure the strongest links possible. Its tools are shipped with only the most reputable transport companies who can offer next day deliveries for very urgent cases. Overall its tooling can always be shipped anywhere in Europe within three days of completion of production. Omni-X provides tooling solutions for the automotive, aerospace, shipyard, heating and cooling and furniture industries among others.
