As with all welding machines in the Quinto series, the CP power sources are fully digitalised, ensuring precise repeatability of the welding results. The machines feature ‘true synergy’ mode and ‘variable synergy’ mode, which enables the stored knowledge to be applied with single-knob operation, including fine adjustment of the arc length. ‘Variable synergy’ mode also allows the setting of individual parameters. Low spatter ignition and Alu-Plus are standard functions. A weld data monitoring and documentation system with a large data memory and the Duo-Drive wire feed unit are also available as options. The Quinto CP pulsed arc welding machine is suitable for manual and automated applications within a capacity range of up to 350 Amp. Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH – Germany

Efficient thin plate cold process welding

Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik, Germany, is a specialist in the field of welding and robot technology arc tracking. The company’s product range includes

shielding gas welding machines, welding torches, automated special purpose machines and turnkey Romat ® robot systems. The company’s new HighEnd GLC 353 Quinto CP pulsed arc welding machine, which is designed for efficient thin plate welding, features very low heat input in the weld seam, due to the cold process (CP). A new innovation first introduced at EuroBlech, this welding process can be applied to tubes, especially those with thin walls (eg tubes for heating systems). The process results in less component distortion and reduced coating burn-off in the case of MIG brazing coated plate. Another benefit of the new Cloos-CP technology is the very small mixture of filler material required, used as basic material when hardfacing. Other advantages of the cold process are the optimised gap bridging ability and an increase in the weld speed, particularly when welding very thin aluminium plate.
