Aimed at the oil and petrol station sector, Petrol Station 2007 (http://targi.paliwa.pl) is scheduled to take place from 9-11 May 2007, at the Expo XXI Warsaw International Expocentre, Poland. The annual fair, organised by the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels, will feature petrochemicals, pumps and meters, tanks and pipelines, air, water, and oil utility equipment, and LPG. Automation Technology Egypt 2007 (http://www.smbegypt.com/automation. htm), will take place from 8-11 March 2007 in Cairo, Egypt. The exhibition is focussed on automation and process control for robotics, process instrumentation, hydraulics/ pneumatics, oil/gas, and construction. Exhibits will include measurement and testing, robotics, pumps/valves, and applied computers. The conference paper submission deadline is 18 January 2007. The 20 th Metalex 2006 (www.metalex. co.th) – held from 23-26 November 2006 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Thailand – was a big success, with record numbers of exhibitors and visitors in attendance from the ASEAN region. The exhibition featured tube technology, machine tools, testing equipment, and welding technology. Metal-Expo 2006 (www.metal-expo.ru/en/) – which took place last November at the All Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow – is reported to have been a busy success. Growing in size and stature as a metals exhibtion for the Russian market, over 700 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors were in attendance. TMK (www.tmk-group.com), Russia, has released its production and sales figures for October 2006. For the first time in its history, the company’s subsidiaries sold 271,400t of pipes and produced 154,200t of steel in a one-month period. From January-October 2006 the company sold over 2.5 million tons of pipes, 3.2 per cent higher than in the same period of 2005. In the first ten months of 2006 the company produced 1,787,300t of steel. Unison (www.unisonltd.com), UK, has added the range of Omni-X bending tools (www.omni-x.cz) to its product portfolio for the UK and Ireland. Omni-X is a supplier of high performance tools for tube fabrication, and its range includes mandrels, clamps, and pressure and wiper dies. The company offers a manufacturing service which can rapidly supply application-specific tube bending tools. In conjunction with Unison, the company will also stock tools for high volume manufacturers. Can-Eng Furnaces Ltd (www.can-eng. com), Canada, has won a contract to manufacture a 1,500kg/hr automotive steel tube annealing line for a Mexican tube manufacturer. With start-up due in early 2007, the unit will be used to bright anneal tubing in lengths up to 8m long, under low dewpoint EXO gas. The company will also supply a 2000 CFH Lean EXO generator to a customer in the American mid-west.
