Ultrasonic rotary tester for inspecting high- quality tube A new 25mm UT rotary from Magnetic Analysis Corp (MAC) is designed for high-speed flaw and dimensional ultrasonic inspection of tubes in high- precision applications. The Echomac ® 25mm rotary provides 100 per cent coverage at high throughput rates on thin wall products ranging from 5 to 25mm in diameter, and is especially suited to challenging applications such as tubular product for nuclear and aerospace installations. settings, and precise thickness resolution (1μm), with repeatability and reliability. With zero channel cross-talk, 8,000 rpm running speed, precision test blocks and transducer holders, and convenient adjustment of the transducer angle, the rotary provides optimum results using FD 6/6A electronics or with existing instruments to upgrade a line. The Echomac series is used for applications ranging from full body testing and weld zone inspection during production, to 500mm ultrasonic/flux leakage test systems for large diameter OCTG pipe. The Echomac FD-6A electronics have received GE qualification for P3TF31 Class A & B, and P29TF82 Class A & B, a typical requirement for nuclear and aerospace applications. With an overall length of 630mm, the 25mm rotary also allows trouble-free upgrades for inspection lines where space may be limited.
