New pipe coupling withstands extremely high temperatures

“With this pipe coupling, we are adding the demanding high-temperature range to our portfolio of joining products,” said Dr Michael Schneider, member of the management board of Norma Group. “We are thus able to offer our customers in the sanitary sector a robust, ready-to-install joining solution that meets the highest requirements in terms of material and heat resistance.” Apart from the FKM seal, the FGR pipe coupling

Engineered joining technology com- pany Norma Group now offers a new, highly heat-resistant pipe coupling. This version of the FGR pipe coupling with a fluororubber seal (FKM) can withstand temperatures of up to 180°C, making it well suited to pipe systems through which super-heated steam flows, including heating pipes in district heating systems and systems for sterilisation, disinfection and cleaning in hospitals, laboratories and hotels, for example. Valves stockist Valve Center holds substantial stocks of valves, actuators and associated products to cover many industries, and sells to many other re-sellers and merchants. Apart from the standard range, which includes globe, pressure relief valves and steam traps, the company stocks valves with undrilled flanges that can be drilled to suit old pipework and match face-to-face dimensions, removing the need to adapt pipework. The company’s website features free utilities in the tools section, such as flange charts (up to 144"), chemical charts and pipe and valve standard specification information. Valve Center is now a stockist and distributor of UK-manufactured WRAS- and TÜV-approved safety relief valves. It also holds stocks of carbon and stainless steel ball valves – DNV-approved, fire safe, direct and non-direct mount, flanged and screwed, in two- and three- piece design. The range of European-made butterfly valves are Lloyd’s and ABS approved, matching ANSI, DIN and JIS standards, and are in stock for delivery.

hydrocarbons, ozone, oxygen and other gases. When transporting fluids, the pipe coupling is suitable for temperatures up to 180°C. The FKM seal was tested for temperature resistance and durability at Norma Group’s own test laboratory in Maintal, Germany. consists entirely of stainless steel and is therefore highly resistant to corrosion. It connects different types of metal pipes compactly and reliably, and it can bridge gaps between pipe ends and compensate for axial movements. It has been developed for temperature ranges of gaseous media from -10°C to 150°C. In addition to super-heated steam, the pipe coupling with FKM seal is suitable for use in transport lines containing various acids and alkaline solutions,
