disengagement mechanism and play-free and vibration-damping elastomeric construction, with effectiveness in a variety of applications, particularly as collision protection in feed axes. They protect complex and expensive systems from costly machine damage, repairs and downtime.
Dynamic, powerful controlled drives play an increasing role in today’s advanced automation. The SKY-EK safety coupling series, which is being expanded by two standard sizes, features elastomer construction, and offers a safety element for these high-performance drives. With a maximum disengagement torque of 2,000 Nm, the ever-increasing performance data is taken into account. As a special version, disengagement torques up to 2,000 Nm and operating speeds up to 8,000 rpm can be achieved. The safety couplings of the SKY-EK series are a combination of a proven

The application areas cover all demanding high-dynamic servo axes for machine tools up to the overload
Key features of the SKY-EK series are compact dimensions, low inertia moments, the compensation of misalignment errors between the input and output shafts with low restoring forces, and play-free, angular transmission of the torques.

Steering valve provides flexible solution Power management company Eaton has launched the ASV60 Steering Valve, a compact, modular valve that helps reduce cab noise and improve machine flexibility and intelligence. industries, the valve allows machine designers to tailor equipment steering performance to the operator’s driving habits or operating conditions, and as a foundation for autonomous vehicles.
and efficient,” said Jiri Foukner, a product manager at Eaton. “Advanced steering solutions allow designers to customise equipment, providing options for controlling steering reaction, drift compensation and varying input devices, while improving operator comfort and visibility.” The new valve can be used in conjunction with an orbitrol control in an electrohydraulic steering assembly, or in a fully electronically actuated steer-by- wire system. The valve can be mounted on an orbitrol controller, or remote- mounted wherever space exists on the machine, allowing for more flexible machine design and reduced cab noise. In customer testing, a prototype of the valve allowed machine designers to remove front- and rear-mounted steering wheels, instead using a joystick and steer- by-wire system to allow the operator to control the machine from a 180° rotating seat. The valve also allowed the customer to move all of the hydraulics out of the cab, reducing operator noise. Eaton – Switzerland www.eaton.com
