Marcegaglia Specialties played a key role in the promotion and drafting of the new EN 10357 European standard, related to austenitic, austenitic-ferritic and ferritic longitudinally welded stainless steel tubes for the food and chemical industries. Other key quality certifications obtained in the last two years are related to products of high technical profile such as welded tubes for naval applications (RINA approval for tubes according to EN 10217), food and dairy applications (TIFQ and EHEDG approval) and drinking water applications (DVGW 541 approval). The quality system is certified according to ISO 9001/15 and IATF16949; welding procedures are certified according to ISO3834-2. The company has developed a range of structural tubes according to the European standards EN 10219 and EN 10210, while precision tubes according to EN 10305-3 meet the dimensional and surface appearance requirements typical of sectors such as furniture, sporting goods and the mechanical industry. The fabrication process of cold-drawn or DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubes is carried out according to EN 10305, and the production is tested to match standard and specific requirements of the industry sectors for each steel grade. The main certifications owned by the company and its plants are IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, BS OHSAS 18001, REACH and RoHS.
