Optimised plasma bevelling with iSeries ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has optimised the consumables on its iSeries high-precision plasma systems for plasma bevelling applications. The new design, distinguished by a more pointed nozzle and shield cap, narrows the torch profile to enable tilting the torch at greater angles, moving the torch closer to the plate to maintain optimum arc lengths without collisions. crash protection, deliv- ers responsive, accu- rate positioning and can detect a torch crash without any added com- ponents, automatically resetting itself after a collision.

ESAB’s CutCloud con- nected digital system is now powered by Micro- soft Azure IoT. Azure allows for a reliable and secure architecture that sends data from an ESAB CutCloud-enabled sys- tem directly to the cloud,

The ultra-cooled, two-piece iSeries tip gets cooled all the way to the orifice to provide the best cut quality over its complete life span. XtremeLife™ electrodes feature multiple hafnium inserts, which last longer in high-current applications. ESAB states that iSeries consumables can save as much as 35 per cent when cutting mild steel and up to 70 per cent on stainless. Connecting the iSeries to the DMX automated plasma beveller provides a full range of weld preparations. The compact and easy-to-use DMX bevel- ler eliminates the need for breakaway The Troxel Company has been producing HF welded tubing for more than 50 years. Solid-state, high-frequency induction welding expert Thermatool has been supporting Troxel since the start. Troxel has multiple Thermatool solid- state HF welders on its tube mills, the first being installed in 1995 and the most recent in 2018. All of the welders are still delivering reliable performance, and Thermatool supports each model with spare parts and technical service for the life of the machine. Troxel’s latest upgrade is a new Thermatool CFI (current-fed inverter) 200 solid-state HF welder. It uses Thermatool’s patented AutoMatch™ power and frequency matching and stabilisation features, which ensure production performance and efficiency.

eliminating the need for an on-premises server or large IT infrastructure to gain the benefits of data management. Azure also allow for on-premises and hybrid (on-premises/cloud) operation. CutCloud in combination with ESAB’s Columbus ® III software (version 1.6 now available) enables users to: access data remotely from a phone, tablet or PC; see what the machines are doing

at any time; measure cutting machine efficiency and productivity; improve accuracy of quotes for cutting jobs using actual cutting data; automatically gather productivity data from cutting machines; and automatically generate customised reports. Troxel continues to choose Thermatool for solid-state welding needs

The AutoMatch feature ensures full power output over a wide range of product sizes, which helps reduce scrap and increase yield. In addition, the Thermatool current-fed HF welder enables Troxel to ensure the first tube is prime all the way through to the end of the production run. Thermatool customer service helps make sure that Troxel gets the most out of its multiple generations of machine. “Thermatool’s technology has made our transition to solid-state equipment smooth,” said Mr Bowen. “All of our solid-state welders are fully supportable with spare parts, and even our welders older than 20 years are fully serviceable.” Thermatool Corp – USA

Thermatool CFI solid-state HF welder

Craig Bowen, technical service manager at Troxel, reported that upgrading to Thermatool solid-state HF welders from vacuum tube designs has been a great benefit to his shop. “We get better uptime, and the CFIs are more energy efficient,” said Mr Bowen. “Our welding process is all-around better with the CFI solid-state HF welders.”
