Voss Fluid has optimised its online CAD database, increasing efficiency for design engineers. Using the new ‘shopping cart’ function, users can send requests for proposals to Voss Fluid. The database also includes 3D models of the entire hose fittings product range. All CAD models for ready-to-install hydraulic lines are available in various formats for free download at voss.partcommunity.com The online database covers more than 10,000 products. With various search options, design engineers can quickly and easily find the matching component for their projects. The user can save the identified components in the shopping cart, then with a single mouse-click trigger a non-binding request for a quotation. The platform provides the CAD models for all hose connections and hose fittings that the company has been carrying in its range since the integration of Voss Fluid Larga. To provide the greatest possible compatibility, data is available in more than 70 3D and 30 2D formats. The Voss Fluid line offers diverse couplings, valves, hose fittings, flanges and cutting rings, with measurement couplings being added in the future. Voss Fluid GmbH – Germany www.voss-fluid.de

New mill for Robor in South Africa Over the past five years, Robor’s capital expenditure has been extensive. The most recently approved capex – and also the largest in the company’s history – was for the replacement of two of its older steel mills with a new mill of the latest technology, designed in conjunction with some of the leading equipment builders from around the world. Robor’s new mill

This fully automated mill is capable of changing rolls in 30 minutes, with the aid of a robotic tool-changing system – the first of its kind on the African continent. The mill has now been fully commissioned at the company’s 250,000m 2 Elandsfontein site in Gauteng, South Africa. The mill is complemented by extensive value-adding, project and fabrication operations, with the capability to handle a full range of customer requirements in the light and medium fabrication range. Robor undertakes the estimating and turnkey supply to site (excluding installation) of complex and demanding

fabrication of certain components, and ultrasonic testing. In 2017 Robor entered into a joint venture with Aegion – United Pipeline Systems, a multinational provider of pipeline solutions. Robor will be present at Tube 2018 in Düsseldorf, at the South Africa pavilion. Robor (Pty) Ltd – South Africa

The company has developed a fully integrated steel processing facility, and claims to be the largest supplier of longitudinally welded steel tube and pipe in Southern Africa. The range of value-added services includes hot dip galvanising for corrosion protection, pipe and tube cutting (2D and 3D), punching, drilling, coatings and linings, pressure testing, welding (robotic, stick and submerged arc), cutting, wrapping, painting, packing,
