Fully coated isolation gasket introduced Garlock Pipeline Technologies (GPT), a manufacturer of critical pipeline sealing and electrical isolation products, has announced the launch of its Evolution isolation gaskets, featuring easier installation, tight sealing, high-temperature operation, no permeation, hydro-testing isolation, fire-safety and chemical-resistance. The full-coating encapsulation allows the gasket to be hydro-tested and left in the pipeline with the same isolation properties as before it was tested. Evolution’s coating (a GPT proprietary material) is abrasion and impact resistant while providing chemical resistance to H 2 S, steam, CO, CO 2 and other chemicals often found in oil and gas pipelines. The fully encapsulated coating also prevents the need for expensive exotic cores, as it eliminates contact with exposed metal. The Evolution gasket features high tightness parameters. With demands placed on the oil and gas industry to improve leakage rates, the increased levels of tightness achieved are claimed to exceed requirements and result in greater joint integrity.
