Jakob Antriebstechnik introduces the innovative Simple-Flex tube series

The Simple-Flex series from Jakob Antriebstechnik is an innovative distance coupling that can be manufactured up to 6m in length and requires no additional intermediate support.

A composite tube with a multi-layer, angle-specific fibre configuration allows for a particularly simple design that works without the otherwise necessary coupling compensation elements on

the two tube ends. With elaborate simulation calculations and test series, this composite tubing has been developed, which has both flexural flexibility and high torsional rigidity. The very low weight and the associated low moments of inertia can guarantee the highest operating speeds and torques with excellent smoothness, without neglecting the compensation of shaft misalignments. Simple-Flex is available with either rotationally symmetrical cone clamping ring clamping or with assembly-friendly splitted hub design. The two available composite pipe sizes cover torque

New pipe steels meltshop and bloom caster for OMK Danieli EAF and casting technology will soon produce 1.8Mtpy of pipe steels, mainly for the Russian market. OMK has contracted Danieli Centro Met to supply a new EAF meltshop and seven-strand bloom caster, to be installed at Vyksa (Russian Federation) and produce up to 1.8Mtpy of steel, of which 800,000 tons will be cast in blooms for pipes, railroad wheels and springs. Danieli will supply a 180-ton electric arc furnace, two twin-ladle furnaces, one vacuum degasser, and a bloom conticaster, plus a fume-treatment plant. The new EAF will be controlled by the Q-Melt artificial intelligence package for automatic melting process management, as well as with full suite of Danieli automatic tapping tools including EAF tilting, EBT filling and EBT unclogging and cleaning. A three-tank vacuum degasser will serve two new casters (with two ladles under vacuum treatment and one in trimming.)
