Refurbished welding equipment helps optimise gas system installations performed by Sentinel Gas

“In many cases this calls for tube welding of the highest quality, which has pointed us towards the AMI units and the services available from Westermans International.” Small diameter pipework of between 1 / 8 " and 2", and often made of specialist material such as stainless steel, is at the centre of most of the installations undertaken by Sentinel Gas Systems. The AMI orbital welders ensure that clean, consistent results are achieved, with the added benefit of a memory function that enables the unit to retain up to 100 welding programs. This has a clear beneficial impact on repeatability, helping to optimise results, and is central to the AMI 207 being able to meet a long list of industry standards. Sentinel’s finance manager, Rebecca Mountford, noted that the company is pleased with the quality of the

equipment, and also praised the service and support from Westermans. Claire Spillane, company secretary at Westermans International, commented, “We believe that our ability to supply the two AMI 207 units from our extensive stockholding to meet the operational requirements of Sentinel was very important. As with all equipment we supply, the two systems in this case were fully refurbished with key operational parts fitted as new, and were supplied with full training and access to spares and maintenance operations.” Sentinel’s installation director, Richard Barber, stated that the equipment performance is exactly as expected, as is the input from Westermans in terms of knowledge, refurbishment skills and support services. The capability of welding equipment refurbishment supplier Westermans International Ltd has helped specialist gas system installer Sentinel Gas Systems enhance its services to a range of industries. Westermans supplied two AMI 207 orbital welding units to Sentinel, enabling the company to optimise both its on-site service and its clean room facility at its premises in Coventry, UK. These were the latest in a series of Westermans units purchased by Sentinel, bringing key advantages to the company’s customers. Sales director Stephen Kane explained, “We meet a series of application needs in industries as diverse as automotive, pharmaceutical and research and, in all cases, we design systems that can handle gas supplies up to 300 bar – often of a hazardous or toxic nature.
