Stainless steel tube expertise from CSM CSM Tube, which was founded in 1983, is a global producer of stainless steel tubes, with an annual output of over 50 million metres. It produces tubes in more than 60 different diameters, from 4 to 28mm and thickness ranging from 0.25 to 1.50mm. South and North America, CSM offers heat exchangers, heating elements, automotive applications and heating products in 62 countries in total

Elettronica, which is responsible for the development of hardware and software. CSM Transforming cuts, bends and curves tubes to customers’ requirements. In 2014 CSM Group purchased Oakley, the American company that invented the first machines to produce heating elements. The following year, CSM Tube USA was opened as a distribution point for Italian-made tubes, and in 2018 an effective production site was established with the aim of expanding into the North American market. CSM Tube SpA – Italy www.csmtube.com “Our solution was to provide a manual machine with an adjustable, streamlined design that adapts to challenging indoor environments,” said Paul Donaldson, manager of product development. “Contractors now have the option of making mitre fusions on site with a single machine, which saves time and costs associated with moulded or pre-fabricated fittings.” In response to contractor preference, McElroy incorporated a cordless feature for the facer, which is powered by a battery-operated drill included in the package. Power is only required for the heater, which keeps electrical needs minimal. The Polygon’s compact design makes it suitable for tie-in fusions where space is limited. The pressure gauge is positioned for efficient viewing, and a side-positioned wheel drive allows the operator to smoothly move the carriage. The machine’s stable base makes it appropriate for prefabrication and bench-top use at a comfortable height. The unit is capable of socket fusion by swapping out the jaws with an optional Spider 125 Series 2 adapter kit. McElroy – USA fusion@mcelroy.com www.mcelroy.com

CSM Tube is part of CSM Group, which is run by Elisabetta and Marco Trolese, who took over the company from their father and company founder Giorgio. CSM Group has two production sites in Italy, one in Brazil and a distribution centre in the USA with a total of 15,000m 2 and around 120 employees. In Italy Gruppo CSM includes CSM Machinery, which produces automated parts and machinery for the heating element sector, CSM Tube, which produces tubes, and AZ

CSM Tube supplies heat treated tubes produced in a controlled environment in either coils or cut-to-length straightened bars measuring up to 20m in length. Starting out at a national level, the company soon became the main supplier for many European and international customers. With offices, warehouses and production sites in

Machine for mitre, butt and socket fusion McElroy, a manufacturer of pipe fusion equipment, has unveiled the new Polygon, a versatile tool built for the needs of the mechanical, plumbing and HVAC piping industry. angles, and offers additional socket fusion capability for 63 to 125mm polypropylene pipe and fittings.

It is equipped with quick-clamp, pivoting jaws for easier setup, and pivoting pipe supports to keep the pipe level in the jaws. These features provide a wider variety of mitring options. It is suitable for use in close- quarter mechanical rooms in new construction, as well as older structures on pipe replacement projects. Both environments need a machine that functions well in crowded conditions and around various architectural and mechanical obstructions.

The Polygon is described by the company as the industry’s first manual machine for mitre, butt and socket fusion to offer DataLogger ® capability, which allows contractors to meet the growing requirement for better traceability and assurance that joints are fused according to standard. The Polygon can produce mitre and butt fusion joints for 63 to 160mm polypropylene pipe from 0° to 45°
