Supermarket transformation A cast iron foundry in Fareham, Hampshire, UK, previously belonging to iron technology firm Saint-Gobain PAM UK, has risen from the ashes into a Tesco supermarket, incorporating a car park using Saint-Gobain PAM UK’s Ensign soil brand. provides the complete drainage solution to a project’s needs. It is the only drainage system tested to a Kitemark approved to BS EN 877 and it combines all the proven material properties of cast iron, which are unmatched in terms of fire resistance, acoustic qualities, strength and longevity. In addition, it provides material and installation cost savings.

The foundry that originally occupied the site was operated by Glynwed Brickhouse, prior to Saint-Gobain PAM UK acquiring the facility. It has since been transformed into a 49,300ft 2 store. Supplied to Essex Mechanical Services by Drain Center at Chandler Ford, the Ensign Soil system is installed within the store’s basement car park.
