Drainage offering extends even further

Marley Plumbing and Drainage has extended its soil and waste product range with the introduction of Marley Akatherm HDPE Drainage, a modern, high density polyethylene system. Marley Akatherm HDPE is a drainage system that is manufactured to meet high standards of durability and reliability, offering an alternative solution to cast iron. It is particularly suited to commercial applications or where a product with high impact or abrasion resistance is required, such as hospitals, hotels, schools, and residential buildings. HDPE will also cope with temperature variations of -40°C to 100°C, making it suitable for both external and internal installations. The combination of the material properties of HDPE with homogeneous welded joints provides greater installation flexibility with a wide range of jointing options. The various connection methods include electrofusion, butt welding and push fit expansion sockets, depending upon the particular project

requirements. This ensures a quick, clean and reliable installation, and the lightweight construction of the HDPE system results in additional cost savings in transport and handling. The new product launch is supported by the Marley Technical Design service team, and the company has also invested in the latest design software to provide added value to specifiers and designers. Marley also offers a specialist fabrication service able to provide pre-fabricated stacks, made in a quality controlled environment, eliminating installation time on-site, particularly on larger projects. This service lends itself to offsite manufacture, a construction method growing in popularity. “This latest product offering is part of our new innovation focus at Marley,” commented Fiona Bashford, marketing manager at Marley Plumbing and Drainage. “Marley Akatherm HDPE has a proven track record across Europe, giving specifiers the assurance of performance. Its inherent properties help

to increase the overall product lifecycle expectancy and reduce maintenance and replacement costs across the system.” The range covers an extensive package of pipes and fittings in the diameters 40 to 315mm, which includes pipe, bends, electrofusion couplers, branches, branch balls and access pipes. All the products in the range are approved to BS EN 1519: 2000.
