deburring is no running costs for purchasing tubes as consumable items. Dual upset buttwelding machines with automatic deburring are the optimum solution for joining regular stranded conductors, however, they cannot be used for ne-stranded exible conductors. As a result of recent developments, it is now possible to o er buttwelding by medium frequency working at about 1,000 hertz, with 3-phase current supply. So there won’t be a single-phase load of the main supply any more. The amperage absorbed during a welding cycle is reduced substantially, eg divided approximately by two. As a result, fuse protection is facilitated in particular for bigger buttwelding machines having a capacity of 100kVA or more (mains fuses, often a transformer is installed exclusively for the buttwelding machines). Medium frequency technology is not limited to new machines; it is also possible to modify existing machines. August Strecker GmbH & Co KG – Germany Website : www.strecker-limburg.de Streicher’s top-cut range of nut tapping machines has been expanded by a further three machines – the top-cut 10D for tapping M5-M10, top-cut 16D for M5-M16, and top-cut 33D for M16-M33. In order to achieve a high output quantity the new machines are provided with two working spindles which operate according to the over ow principle (bent shank tap). All kinds of standard, ange and round nuts as well as special parts can be machined. The consistent implementation of mechanical controls with electrical monitoring assures uniform high quality for manufactured parts. A reliable graveyard production shift is possible thanks to torque monitoring. For safety reasons, and in order to design the machine as compact as possible, the protective hood encloses the entire feeding and working area. The strong coolant current lubricates the thread taps e ectively and ensures a high cutting speed and maximum tool life. At the same time, it maintains the cleanliness of all machine and tool parts. Even after extended service, there is no accumulation of chips. The almost completely dry chips are automatically discharged from the Streicher Stand: 15H04
machine when this magnetic drum is tted. Mechanical and electrical safety devices ensure ideal protection for the operator and the machine. The machines have an attractive design with an illuminated workspace. Streicher Maschinenbau GmbH – Germany Website : www.streicher-maschinen.de Subec Stand: 09B73 Rollers and roller systems, wheels, downstream equipment, length measuring systems and all kinds of ceramic and tungsten carbide parts, straighteners and longitudinal product guiding systems will be on display at wire 2014.
