For preparing cables for end terminations with relatively long lengths to be peeled, a motorised driving unit is o ered. The unit can be easily attached and removed without tools and without having to remove the tool from the cable. The tool and the optional drive are of lightweight design. This makes it suitable to work with the cable in vertical position for cable end terminations.

Hivotec has launched the new Series CP with the following main bene ts: • The main application for the tool is the peeling of the semicon on HV cables, but it can also be used for stripping and chamfering the main insulation • The tool runs on rollers around the cable. No greasing of the cable surface is needed • When peeling the outer semi conductive layer, the transition between XLPE insulation and semicon is very smooth in such a way that typically no rework with sanding and polishing is needed. The angle of the transition is between 6 and 10°. This provides a perfect t for slip-on terminations and joints • The Series CP comes in three sizes, CP90, CP130, and CP185, covering the diameter range between 35 and 185mm
