Final acceptance for the largest Kocks RSB 500

Chinese special steel producer Nanjing Iron & Steel Co Ltd (NISCO) has granted to

Friedrich Kocks GmbH the final acceptance certificate for the commissioning of a

three-roll reducing and sizing block (RSB ® ) 500++/4 in 5.0 design. The Kocks three-roll RSB 500++, for medium and large size SBQ products, operates at NISCO’s 800,000 t/a medium bar mill as the finishing unit for the production of straight bars within a dimensional range of Ø 50 to 160mm. Kocks was also responsible for the thermomechanical rolling process, including five water boxes, and a full automation package. The low temperature rolling process is applied for sizes up to Ø 130mm. In addition to the RSB 500++/4, NISCO has operated an RSB 370++/4 in its small bar mill since 2013. Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co KG www.kocks.de
