High-temp material cable production line for aviation

Rosendahl Nextrom has enhanced the technology and processes at its facility in Austria, with the installation of a flexible insulation test line designed for processing high-performance plastics and various low-temperature materials. With six integrated extruders, the line can process a wide variety of layer combinations. This gives producers the flexibility to process a large number of cable variations on one line, and to offer variety to the market.

The final cable products are usually applied in medical, aerospace and military technology, as well as in the automotive industry. They are used for oil pump cables, heating cables or any purpose that requires cables of a high-temperature class and with high chemical and mechanical stability. Possible layer combinations are one– layer; two-layer in co-extrusion or in tandem extrusion; three-layer with skin-foam-skin (with low-temperature materials); and three-layer with high-

temperature materials in co-extrusion and tandem extrusion. All of the parts that are integrated into the high-temperature line – such as crossheads, conductor preheating and material drying components – are available for testing at Rosendahl Nextrom’s facility. The company can also assist customers in advance with its product experience, providing support with any process- related questions and prospects.
