Rolf Schlicht GmbH’s RSC-NG powder coating machine, from the RS Powdertech series, was launched as the successor to the RS Powdertech type PBA/RSC machines. The modular system enables adaptation to the specific purpose of each customer. The company is now launching another new development, with models from the Talkator NG series. The Talkator NG SPC is suitable for cables, hoses, wires and profiles. The model is located below the RSC NG line, and shows its strengths in slow, simple cable production as well as QED specialises in equipment for in-line heat-treating, cleaning and coating of steel wire. Its furnaces are custom-built for multi-strand annealing, stress relieving, patenting and tempering processes. With patented flow technology, the fluid systems integrate cleaning efficiency with high wire speeds. The rugged liquid metal furnaces have been proven in the application of heavy and commercial coating of zinc, aluminium and Galfan®. With a bed of fine aluminium oxide particles and precise air and gas control, QED’s fluidbed furnaces offer an environmentally friendly heat-treating solution in an energy-efficient package. The fluidbeds’ rapid heat transfer results in shorter furnace length and more compact and easier-to-operate process lines. QEDWire Lines Inc

in the production of strands and profiles in the extrusion sequence in the rubber industry. The Talkator NG DR (drum roll) is used in the powdering of rubber-moulded part production or within granulate production, with fine coatings being achieved. Using the newly developed RS filter system, dust-free powdering is possible, as with the long-standing PBA/ RSC/RSC NG machines. Rolf Schlicht GmbH www.schlicht-gmbh.de The addition of pulse-firing technology to QED’s muffle tube austinitising furnace improves the thermal efficiency and increases temperature uniformity, owing to the higher average flame velocity and superior convective heat-transfer. Pulse firing also offers a higher turn-down ratio, lower NOx emissions and more flexibility in burner and zone control. An S7 Siemens PLC is at the heart of the furnace control systems. Programmed with user-friendly software and advanced combustion algorithms, the systems deliver precision gas flow and accurate temperature control. A new development is web-enabled systems for smartphone monitoring and remote troubleshooting of control panels.

With a view to improved efficiency and to minimise environmental impact, QED developed the dual loop pressure/ temperature combustion control system. This patented system maintains a steady output with precise air-gas ratio on all of the company’s multiple burner furnaces. in ceramic-lined furnaces is the Advanced Recuperative Technology Mark 4 Immersion Burner. This burner offers higher combustion efficiency from an extended double pass pre-heat design. Constructed of stainless and high nickel alloy steels, it has an extended operating lifespan and a cooler skin temperature. QED’s latest development

Change in management at Tenova LOI Tenova LOI Thermprocess, a specialist in the field of heat treatment, is undergoing a change in its management organisation. At the end of June, Erik Míček, managing director of LOI Thermprocess GmbH since 2010, left the company, after almost three decades of service.

“Sustenovability”, further developing its offering following a more environmentally sustainable approach to heat treatment processes of steel and aluminium. New corporate goals are based on the needs of plant operators with regard to low-emission production, increased plant efficiency and digitalisation. Tenova LOI Themprocess GmbH www.loi.tenova.com

Christian Schrade has assumed Mr Míček’s responsibilities, while Torsten Koepchen, in his function as CFO, is responsible for the commercial departments. As an industry expert, Mr Schrade has gathered extensive experience in steel mill technology over many years. Since 2010, he has been responsible for the management of Tenova Metals Deutschland GmbH, which was merged into LOI Thermprocess GmbH last year. Mr Schrade was appointed as a member of the management board of LOI Thermprocess GmbH in October 2019. Together with Mr Koepchen, he will ensure the smooth continuation of all projects and business activities. The company aims at further expanding its global presence in industrial furnace technology and at enhancing the corporate strategy in line with its future-oriented commitment
