Lubricant company continues global growth

Built around the production of lubricants for drawing non-ferrous wire and tubes, Metalube’s Lubricool™, Alumol™ and Tubol™ products still remain a key part of the portfolio. However, with the advent of new lubricant technology the products perform very differently from how they did 30 years ago. The company understands the needs of an evolving industry, and its dedicated research and development team is constantly innovating and utilising cutting-edge technology to ensure customers’machinery is running at peak efficiency. In 2015, the company underwent a major investment to upgrade its technology centre. This included a new purpose-built laboratory that incorporates the latest tribology test and development equipment. Key to the company’s growth has been its continued global expansion, exporting 95 per cent of its production to over 90 countries worldwide, with offices in Manchester, UK; Dubai, UAE; Mumbai, India; São Paulo, Brazil; and Shanghai, China.

Lubricant manufacturer Metalube is celebrating a 20 per cent growth in the wire and cable market. Driven by the needs of the industry, Metalube has developed and supplied high-performance lubricants for the wire and cable industry for over 30 years. The growth in 2019 is due in large part to strategic partnerships developed in Europe and the USA. Douglas Hunt, commercial director, said: “It’s an exciting time for Metalube. We are seeing demand and growth in markets that we haven’t been exposed to in years past.” The company, privately owned and operated, has experienced steady growth in the industry for the past decade. Optimising end-user efficiency and providing customer support has been a core of the business from the beginning. “Every customer is important to us, they are not a number on a balance sheet. We are on this journey together and we pride ourselves on being able to provide excellent products, high level of technical expertise, and customer support,” added Mr Hunt.

In North America, the company recently announced a new partnership with H L Blachford Ltd. The collaboration is currently focused on selling Metalube’s non-ferrous copper and aluminium wire drawing lubricants across the USA, Canada and Mexico. The company is fully committed to quality management and reducing its impact on the environment, with workforce safety paramount. It has ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations, ensuring the checks and balances to meet industry standards are in place. Additionally, in 2019, Metalube partnered with ClimatePartner to offset carbon emissions for the company and its products. Metalube Ltd – UK Website : www.metalube.co.uk
