The latest InteliSENS ST1525 spark tester

PROTON Products has introduced its latest on-line InteliSENS ST1525 series high-frequency wire insulation spark tester for high-voltage integrity testing of insulated cables. The instrument is housed in a rugged stainless steel enclosure to resist corrosive chemicals and harsh industrial environments and can be used on all insulated wire and cable types. The InteliSENS ST1525 series is UL 1581 compliant and suitable for spark testing on high-speed production lines running up to 3,000m/min (test frequency dependent). The instrument employs a long 100mm bead chain electrode which operates at 15kV and is capable of measuring wire or cable diameters up to 25mm. test frequency that operates a sine wave test frequency between 2.1 and 4.5kHz. The instrument is capable of distinguishing between pinholes and bare patch flaws and is designed for use with automotive, instrument, power and telecommunications cable applications. The InteliSENS ST 1525 series spark testers are available with industry-standard communications interfaces. The company recently developed and successfully delivered a twin-wire rod breakdown machine (TS6045-9-2) in line with a 12,000 amp annealer (AF80-12000-2) and a 630mm double automatic spooler (BDA630). What made this system unique was the development of the AF80-12000-2 annealer. The AF-Series heats by means of the Joule effect. phases: pre-heating and heating. At the end of the annealing process, the wire is cooled with coolant and is then dried with compressed air before it reaches the coiler or spooler. The annealer shafts have been specially designed to minimise maintenance and to optimise accessibility. There are four annealer motor driven shafts, three of which are electrified. Alternatively, there are optional Profibus or Profinet and Ethernet I/P interfaces for connection to PLCs and industry-standard networks. The Frigeco AF80 also includes a wire accumulator, a system that is extremely useful during machine stoppage to perform zero speed annealing for big wire size and shaped wire. Due to its size, the annealer includes an elevator to help the operator during threading operations. In today’s highly competitive market, customers are seeking increased production efficiency which translates into higher profitability for their products. make improvements that have allowed it to reach the fastest production speeds, increase machine scope, obtain excellent output wire surface quality, and a reduction in the overall operating costs through energy efficiency and reduced maintenance. include embedded Ethernet TCP/IP (Modbus), RS-232 and Proton CANBus communications. Optional interfaces include Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, Industrial Ethernet/IP, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which are available as a substitute for the Ethernet communications interface. Both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi interfaces provide wireless configuration and sensor monitoring to smart phones, tablet PCs
