characteristics and requirements, and to ensure safe and efficient transmission, even with cables designed for challenging environments. With the recent entry of Max Streicher SpA into the corporate structure, Effegidi has become part of the German Streicher group, as part of a corporate project aim ing to sustain technological investments to offer a more effective service. For wire and bar inspection, the company offers two specific systems for rotating inspection: one using eddy current inspection (RotoETscan) and one using ultrasonic inspection (RotoUTscan). The RotoETscan eddy current rotating head detects surface or subsurface longitudinal defects at high speed on circular parts. The system is installed directly on the production line, and is dedicated to the control of cylindrical products including wires, bars and tubes made of ferrous or non-ferrous materials. The rotating head can be adjusted to allow the inspection of smaller solids of revolving parts such as piston pins, axes or shafts. RotoETscan is associated with Zet@Master instrument. RotoETscan features a high rotating speed of up to 6m/s, with easily adjustable probes for different diameters ranging from 0.8 to 220mm, in accordance with quality standards such as DIN, API, ASTM and AMS. The systems are available with two or four channels, and provide inspection with a minimum depth of detected defects of 30µm, with no contact with the inspected product. The ultrasonic rotating head RotoUTscan is dedicated to the control of cylindrical products including wires, bars and tubes, made of a variety of metals, in-line at high speeds or off-line. It ensures integrity testing with the detection of surface flaws including cracks and notches, and internal flaws such as voids and inclusions. RotoUTscan is installed directly on the production line, on an automated bench and using centring devices for precise guiding of the product. It is paired with the MultiUTscan ultrasonic multichannel instrument, using Probus supervision software to allow the creation of complete inspection reports. RotoUTscan features pulse repetition frequency (PRF) up to 20 kHz, and rotating speeds up to 8,000 rpm. It is capable of implementing up to 30 channels, and covers a range of diameters from 4 to 250mm in accordance with quality standards including DIN, API, ASTM and AMS. The system allows contactless signal transmission, and ensures a high repeatability of UT signal (1 dB), and inspection with a minimum depth of detected defects of 25µm. The two systems can be coupled for volumetric inspection on a combined ultrasonic and eddy current bench.

Eurobend GmbH Booth 222

The AKK series high-output flexible welding machine eliminates line wire de-coiling stations, and is suitable for the production of any type of wire precision welded mesh, such as fencing and gabion mesh.

Effegidi International SpA Hall A, Booth 867

Established in Colorno, Italy, Effegidi International SpA has been operating in the field of laminated films for cable shielding since 1973. It specialises in slitting, laminating and coating technical laminates and single-layer films suitable to protect all types of electrical cables, in particular data cables, telecommunication cables and automotive cables.

Eurobend’s AKK series welding line

The new AKK welding line removes idle times and is claimed to at least double productivity in comparison to conventional welding lines. The advantages of off-coil and pre-cut welding machines are combined in one machine. The AKK series is capable of producing large and small batch orders consecu tively, without downtime. The concept behind the AKK series allows automatic mesh spacing and dimensions changes, making it a flexible high-production coil fed mesh welding line that can produce all mesh types instantly, without adjust ment. It also offers a compact system lay out that requires minimal floor space. The system has no downtime when changing wire coils, wire diameters, wire spacing or mesh dimensions. It is equipped with the patented Automatic Wire Orientation System (AWOS), which allows the use of a high-speed roller straightening module for line wire feed ing. AWOS absorbs all wire straightening imperfections from the roller straighten er, and ensures flat mesh panels, regard less of wire and straightening quality.

Effegidi creates laminated films for cable shielding

The consists of products meeting the needs of electrical, electrostatic or other kinds of insulation. Laminated and single-layer films are known for their versatility and technical properties (eg mechanical and chemical resistance). In addition, special films, such as free-edge tapes and laser-cut discontinuous tapes, can be manufactured. The wide range of items offered is the result of cooperation with an R&D department that enables the company to serve many customers with very different company’s portfolio
