Focus on Italy

A milestone in the operation of a plant In increasingly demanding and com- petitive markets, with frequent new products and technical requirements, it is important to maintain and update existing equipment. Continuus-Properzi is now offering a new technical consultancy service delivered by its team of experienced and skilled specialists.

• Troubleshooting of the machinery and the production process • Audits for modernisation and upgrades • Programming of spare parts supply, guiding the customer, especially during the first two to three years of oper- ation, in scheduling and managing the spare parts inventory as a function of the scheduled production. The technical consultancy is performed through three main channels: email troubleshooting/consultancy; remote assistance; and technical audit at the customer’s site. The areas of consultancy cover a range of production topics: • Training and best practices for production and maintenance: through audits and dedicated courses, the customer’s newly hired personnel are trained, while existing team members are updated • Programming of scheduled main- tenance using modern line diagnostics and audits • Control and optimisation of key production parameters

This is not always straightforward, owing to the complexity of modern plants, and other factors such as the quick obsolescence of components, changing market conditions and turnover of personnel. In addition to supplying new equipment for the production of non-ferrous commodities, Properzi is committed to providing after-sales service for its complete operational lifetime. This begins with the start-up and commissioning and continues through- out the entire lifetime of the plant, with a quality policy based on OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 14001:2015. The quality of the product is a com- bination of good machinery; good manu- facturing and maintenance practices; and a well-trained crew.

Increasing the efficiency of recycling electronic waste

electronic waste (WEEE) and “car fluff” (automotive shredder residue – a mix of metal and plastic/rubber waste recovered from car recycling facilities). Machines such as the Robi series and F series dry separators and the Turbo series pulverisers are joined by multi- separation tables for simultaneously separating various grain sizes of copper and aluminium. For the recovery of electronic waste, the company manufactures various lines. The most recent was made with contri- bution by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme, creating a testing lab on a tower with four floors. Guidetti states that its systems allow total purity of copper and aluminium or plastic, even in very small fractions (a few hundred microns). From its offices in Italy, East Europe, Asia and the USA, the company can provide rapid customer service. Guidetti Srl www.guidettisrl.com

was asked to invent a new recycling system for electrical cables. This led to the Sincro series compact synchronised granulator and separator, which grinds the cable and separates it directly between plastic and metal (copper or aluminium). The range of machines is now wide enough to meet the requirements of small recovery companies (such as electricians who recycle their own scrap cable) and scrap dealers, up to large waste recovery and disposal companies.

Guidetti Recycling Systems continually invests in research and development of new recycling solutions. Environmental protection has been a central topic in international debates for many years. Technology has made great strides towards all materials being 100 per cent recycled and recovered, and reducing pollution and the exploitation of increasingly compromised resources. Guidetti Recycling Systems, founded in the 1980s, began when Mauro Guidetti

Two of pre-shredder have been added to this established line of systems for recycling electric wires, to allow continuous processing with versatility, while being silent and easy to access for maintenance by operators. In addition to machines for the recycling of electrical cables, Guidetti specialises in the recovery of metals from new models
