Rod breakdown machine to achieve one per cent slip

The rod ma- chine uses AC motors with inverters, eliminating filters, brushes, manifolds, belts, pulleys and joints. Most bearings do not require maintenance. The pulley bearing greasing-cooling-greasing containment was developed in cooperation with a university to ensure high-speed pro- duction without the need for extra maintenance or continuous greasing. The DC annealing system provides stable wire annealing, even during speed ramps. As an option, Frigeco offers a switch to set the required voltage and save energy, similar to an AC annealer. The machine has several features that enable claimed energy savings of up to 20 per cent, including minimised slippage, direct axis motors for transmission of the last drawing blocks, exclusion of motors of unused blocks, air-cooled motors, and no need for re-phasing condensers. breakdown

In 1992, MFL Group launched the Frigeco rod breakdown machine – the first multi-motor machine with minimised slippage. The technology has evolved over the years under the Frigeco brand. Frigeco’s rod breakdown machine is capable of producing copper, aluminium, bimetallic and alloy wire. Its unique feature is the slip, which is not cumulative capstan by capstan. Instead, each single capstan works with real one per cent slip according to the wire speed in that capstan. This level of precision is achieved through software management and driver programming. The machine’s first section blocks are equipped with a small gearbox that has high mechanical and thermal efficiency. This allows the machine to operate without trouble and increases motor power use, resulting in improved efficiency. The dies and capstan are fully submerged in coolant to prevent overheating, wire oxidation and surface problems. All annealing shafts are water-cooled.
