In-line control of the production process

In a move towards a fully controlled and automated drawing process, Imago has designed efficient control devices to constantly maintain production standards. Operating in-line and without contact, the systems interact to monitor the entire production process and to act on the parameters of the various line components. The systems verify the dimensional compliance of the extrusion shapes and the integrity of the dies, and detect the presence of unwanted residues. Based on different levels of straightness, bars that do not meet the parameters are discarded. products, and operates within any type of coil handling area, whether vertical, horizontal or a combination of the two. The aim is to eliminate manual trimming activities based on counting rings, while performing the trimming process more accurately. With high repeatability, it can perform process cycle-times of less than one minute for both sequences, with a wire diameter ranging from 5 to 26mm. The system can communicate with the rolling mill in real time and adjust the dynamic trimming location depending on the actual rolling parameters for each individual billet.
