Weaving machines for mesh and fabrics As a specialist in resistance welding systems, the Schlatter Group has a complete range of weaving machines for all types of metal wire fabrics, screens and meshes. Semi-automatic screen assembly machines with manual weft insertion complete the production programme for smaller lot sizes and the production of single items.

The KM200, KM320 and KMSS wire crimping machines are a complement for the optimum preparation of the warp and weft wires for the Jäger screen assembly machines. The BD series wire weaving machines are modern band gripper weaving machines. From standard fabrics to heavy fabrics, Schlatter offers a corresponding machine optimised for the product. Advantages result from the wide application range for the processing of a variety of materials, including iron, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel, aluminium and platinum. The fabric pattern (plain fabric, three- shaft to five-shaft twill wire cloth) is created by externally arranged positive

The Jäger metal wire weaving machines are designed for efficient production of high-quality fabrics, and are characterised by operator convenience and easy maintenance. A large number of peripheral devices complete the equipment necessary for production of metal wire fabrics. The robust RG and GD screen assembly machines cover the entire range of heavy sieve fabrics. They enable the production of different screen geometries in small to large lot sizes. For example, Schlatter delivers automatic screen assembly lines, consisting of screen assembly machine and weft wire crimping machine for larger production quantities.

cam motion or AC servo dobby. The weft insertion is effected by a single-sided band gripper system driven by an AC servo motor. The warp let-off is controlled electronically by an AC servo motor, while the warp tension is displayed digitally.

Ground-breaking for new customer and application centre

X-Compound is a Swiss plastics pro- cessing company that builds machines and compounding plants, at the core of which is the continuous kneader. The company trades independently in the plastics compounding market and has been fully integrated as a Troester subsidiary since 2011. The company has started work on a new customer and application centre in Kaisten, Switzerland. Increasing demands and high customer interest motivated X-Compound to invest, in order to provide customers with the ability to test specific applications under near-production conditions. The heart of the new application centre is the CK100 continuous kneader. This

plant can be used to test and simulate demanding and complex processes, and is supplemented by a CK45 laboratory plant for carrying out feasibility analyses or recipe developments. “With this application centre, we have created the opportunity to present our

kneader technology in detail and in practice,” said Raul Friedrich, general manager of X-Compound GmbH. “It is the basis for inspiring our customers.” process engineering and development, added, “The centre is an opportunity for X-Compound to make the technology tangible for our customers in practical training courses.” X-Compound will also use the application centre for the continuous improvement of the technology. Further developments in machine and control technology will be tested and made ready for production. X-Compound GmbH www.x-compound.com Stefan Nägele, head of
