“On the fly”cutting solutions The Rolf Schlicht GmbH product range includes system solutions for a wide range of cutting jobs.

The model is also available as a high- speed version, OC NG HS. The MC NG is a rotary cutter for the precise cutting of soft and semi-hard extrudates with diameters of 25 to 100mm. The product is passed through two exchangeable cutting bushes, each equipped with a monitoring sensor. The speed depends on the selected product length, the speed of the cutting blade and the line speed, which can be up to 200m/min.

The position of the rotating knife is continuously monitored by the controller. It accelerates to maximum cutting speed for cutting, which means a minimum blocking time of the product at maximum cutting energy. Cutting frequencies of up to 3,000 cuts/min can be achieved. The new MCS machine has a modular design, allowing it to be used flexibly for different applications. It can be supplied with different belt widths and contact lengths, and is delivered as standard with a separation module according to the customer’s choice, which can be changed at any time.

The area of application for RS Multicut systems is the production of plastic and rubber extrusion for hoses, pipes, profiles and strips, from small diameters of less than 1mm in medical technology, to pipes with a diameter of approximately 100mm. However, all other cutting jobs are also possible, from confectionery to sliding strips.

Cutting technology from Schlicht

The systems work in the extrusion line or outside the line from the coil, from the lap bundle or from the pallet, and are adapted to the needs of the customer. The redesigned OC NG replaces the old generation OC-15 / OC-65. It is an “on the fly” cutting system for precise, fast and clean cutting of semi-hard and hard pipes made of plastic, rubber, plastic composite with aluminium or copper pipe inside, or rubber with Kevlar, etc. The system is characterised by a clean, chip-free, right-angled cut. All of the important cutting para- meters can be adjusted during the process and optimised according to requirements.

RB NG caterpillar take-off units are suitable for cutting profiles, hoses, extruded profiles, pipes and cables with no slippage or deformation. The belts are driven by servo motors, and an upper drive can be selected to achieve a slip-free and deformation-free take-off and an increased pull off force of the products. The upper belt can be adjusted manually using a handwheel or electrically to the product- dependent gap size. The belt can also be pneumatically lifted at the push of a button for better product introduction. Different belt materials, depending on the product, ensure careful pulling and transport.
