This will be the third RSB (reducing and sizing block) within the Baosteel Group, and follows on from installations at Baosteel Shanghai #5 in 2002 and at Shaoguan’s wire rod and BIC line in 2018. With the decision to implement a Kocks RSB 370++/4 in the existing 490,000t/a bar mill line, Shaoguan intends to further expand and strengthen its share in the demanding SBQ sector for high quality engineering steels for the automotive industry.
