because of its resistance to salt water and its vast temperature range, hot and cold. In addition to pressure resistance, we like that Zago seal screws are sustainable, reusable and can be unscrewed and retightened multiple times for end-of- season maintenance.” Gail Friedberg Rottenstrich, co-founder and CEO of Zago Manufacturing Co, said, “As a sustainable manufacturer making sustainable sealing solutions for a sustainable world, we appreciate Blue Ocean Gear and its mission to create solutions benefitting people and planet. We’re excited to see what comes next.” Zago Manufacturing Co www.zago.com Blue Ocean Gear www.blueoceangear.com

is sealed with Zago Phillips pan head seal screws in titanium, engineered with Buna O-ring technology. Zago sealing screws differ from standard screws in that they feature a custom groove under the head. When combined with a rubber O-ring and tightened, the screw forms a 360° leak- proof, waterproof seal that will not break or crack under treacherous conditions. They are pollutant free and prevent contaminants such as precipitation, oil, bacteria, sand and dust from leaking into and damaging equipment or leaking out into the environment. “We chose a titanium seal screw because of its high resistance to salt-water corrosion, and it is lightweight yet strong,” said Peter Macy, Blue Ocean Gear chief business officer. “We chose a Buna O-ring

Approximately 640,000 metric tons of fishing gear is lost every year, polluting ocean waters and damaging marine ecosystems. The smart Farallon Buoy by Blue Ocean Gear aims to prevent this by providing real-time tracking and monitoring of deployed fishing gear anywhere in the world – land or sea – via a mobile app or web interface. Armed with sensors, the Farallon Buoy recognises when it is in or out of the water and alerts the user to anything unusual, such as equipment being dragged by a trawler, moved by a storm or becoming entangled. It sits on the water’s surface and attaches to a range of subsea fishing equipment, but works even when pulled underwater by strong currents. To ensure reliability and durability in its harsh operating environments, the buoy
