Strengthening base in South America

SCHMOLZ + Bickenbach International has developed its worldwide sales and services network by opening a new location in Santiago de Chile. In taking this step, the Schmolz + Bickenbach Group is further expanding its presence in the demanding and fast growing South American market. In addition to a sales office, a 1,000m² warehouse has opened for special steel that includes modern sawing technologies. Customers benefit from finishing and processing services and short delivery times for the group‘s special steel products. The focus of the sales strategy at Schmolz + Bickenbach Chile is to supply the food and beverage industry as well as the mining industry. In opening a second company in South America, additional to the first in Brazil, the special steel group will be able to meet the rising demand for fast availability of customised tool steels for specific applications. In the near future, local sales and marketing activities will also include stainless, acid- and heat-resistant steels, bright steels and special engineering steels. Customers benefit from the entire range of products from the group‘s steel mills (Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, Finkl Steel, Steeltec, Swiss Steel and Ugitech) as well as competent technical support.
