AUTOMOTIVE supplier Yazaki has raised its strategic partnership with DiIT, a specialist in wire harness production, to a new level. The new Version 12 of the DiIT solution 4Wire CAO – cutting and assembly optimisation – is replacing the previous system in all 24 plants of the Yazaki Europe Group. Over the next two years DiIT AG, the software vendor of manufacturing execution systems (MES) for wire harness production, will equip all 24 plants of the Yazaki Europe Group with the latest Version 12 of its core product, 4Wire CAO, with the first roll-out already installed in the recently opened plant in Serbia. 4Wire CAO ensures the optimisation of the cutting area and component manufacture production areas, and increases their efficiency, quality and traceability. The tier-1 wiring harness supplier Yazaki has also implemented an additional solution from the 4Wire product range, namely 4Wire PLS, that in the last step supports customised production and JIT/JIS dispatch control. DiIT is also offering 4Wire PPG, which automatically generates the relevant production documentation at the interface between engineering and production. “We have relied on the products of our strategic partner DiIT for well over a decade,” said Andreas Engels, head of IT Europe at Yazaki.
