wire 2018 show

16 th - 20 th April

The the performance of its high speed taping heads with an updated design that provides accurate tension control, even for at cables, and using materials and technological solutions speci c to the aeronautic industry. The same care has been paid to the precise cable tension control on take-up and payo systems that work with a feedback signal and without the use of dancers (thus without any cable bending), with the aim of preserving cable quality. At wire 2018 WTM will display a machine that includes all these features. The taping line will be composed of self-aligning and self-levelling take-up and payo units (avoiding any torsion or bending on the cable) and two wrapping units, the rst for twin-axial cable spiralling and the second for aeronautic cables taping. The machine is completed with a supervision system provided by three laser gauges and two cameras, coordinated by a real-time monitoring system that supplies a statistical analysis of the full process. company has improved

Zumbach will o er a complete line of in-line measurement and control equipment for high performance cables, energy cables and similar. The company will explain its software and interface connectivity solutions, ful lling Industry 4.0 requirements and connected within seconds.

The system is visualised on a touchscreen IPC and all relevant data is displayed. The IPC can be connected to the company network. Each dosing station, or complete mixing station, can be operated with this software. All production steps, as well as errors, are monitored in real-time. If needed, the operator can make adjustments or can respectively eliminate and clear the errors. Log les monitor errors, changes in the recipe or orders, inputs and other changes, so the entire operating schedule is documented and can be stored. A graphic display makes the comparison between actual and set value easy for the operator, and provides all the necessary data. With integrated material, recipe and order management, operation is made simple and processes are standardised. In case of error, or if remote service is required, this can be done via TeamViewer. The optional selection of recipes by barcode or QR code o ers further operational advantages. Additional equipment is simple to integrate into the software, making operation of Plasticolor systems very easy. An experienced, dedicated team is available to provide tailor-made software for the operator. Woywod Kunststo maschinen GmbH & Co – Germany Website : www.plasticolor.de

▲ Zumbach will be exhibiting its dimensional measurement and inspection systems

On show will be: •

New one-, two- and three-axis diameter gauges of the high precision ODAC ® series for any wire and cable. New models with special beam geometry, fault detection function and high scan rate • The advanced ODEX ® concentricity and diameter gauge for wire extrusion. Fully non-contact, based on magnetic and laser technology • New LSV length and speed gauges for down-to-zero speed measurement • Advanced KW fault detectors with new local BAE control and display unit • New economic, modular high performance USYS IPC data acquisition, processing and display units • Rayex ® D series: X-ray measuring and control system for CV lines, for wall thickness (three layers), eccentricity and diameter/ovality for CV lines • Pro lemaster ® series: high-end non-contact pro le and shape measurement, combining laser and CCD technology for shaped wire and any other pro le • New line spark tester AC systems with models for up to 15kV, 25kV and 40kV, and cable diameters up to 250mm. Featuring adjustable frequency from 50 to 120Hz, allowing higher operational line speeds to be supported with shorter electrode lengths where needed (UL 1581)

Visitors can see this machine in operation, meet WTM sta , and discuss their speci c production requirements. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the entire WTM production range of taping equipment, twisting lines and curing systems for cable production. ▲ Cables produced by WTM for the aeronautic industry
