Doppler speed and length sensors, with a footprint comparable to that of a smartphone. The InteliSens mini series sensors have an accuracy better than ±0.05 per cent, and are designed to replace inaccurate mechanical speed and length measurement devices • InteliSens DG-k series diameter gauge is the smallest form-factor gauge in the DG-k series and is suitable for insulation and small jacketing processes. Super-fast, the DG-k gauge is an advanced, solid state LED and CCD instrument with no moving parts and a measurement rate of 10,000 times per axis per second for high speed applications • InteliTherm HTG400 handheld wire temperature gauge was recently introduced to the market in the USA. The gauge is suitable for use on all bare wire types, and comprises a bimetallic wheel construction with integrated electronics for precise, responsive measurement performance. It provides high-precision wire temperature measurement of better than ±0.5°C up to 400°C (752°F)

accuracy. PWM designs and manufactures industry standard dies and can also produce custom-made dies for speci c applications.

The wire industry is increasingly facing issues over its environmental footprint. Over the past few years, hundreds of wire mills have closed due to poor productivity, high operating costs and environmental non-compliance. It is important to understand the issues facing the industry and have solutions to overcome them. PWT, with its suite of products, has focused continuously on leading the wire industry in meeting its environmental obligations, and in some countries setting the benchmark.

for bonding trapezoidal pro le. Visitors to the stand will see PWM’s cold weld technology in action and can try out the machines for themselves. PWM’s air/hydraulic HP100 and HP200 cold welders enable operators to weld non-ferrous material 1 to 6.5mm (0.039" to 0.256") in diameter without e ort. Portable and simple to use, these versatile machines will join wire, strip and pro le, including trapezoidal pro le for manufacturing cable for sub-sea applications. Power consumption is minimal, since the machines require only a supply of compressed air, and they can be moved easily to the work area, saving e ort and reducing downtime. The P1500, the largest cold welder in PWM’s range, will also be on show. Designed for bonding large rod sections up to 25mm (0.984") copper and 30mm (1.181") aluminium, the electro/hydraulic P1500 is quiet and economical to operate. The smaller electro/pneumatic EP500, one of PWM’s best-selling machines, has a capacity of 5 to 12.5mm (0.197" to 0.492") copper; and 5 to 15mm (0.59") aluminium. Both machines are energy e cient, dependable, clean and user-friendly. Like all PWM machines, no set up time is required and the welds produced are reliable, consistent and stronger than the parent material. PWM also produces a comprehensive range of manually operated models, including the best-selling M101 machine for wire sizes 1 to 5mm (0.04" to 0.197"). This robust, low-maintenance cold welder can be used on a workbench or supplied with a trolley, as can the BM10 and BM30 models for wire 0.1 to 1.8mm (0.0039" to 0.071"). Smaller handheld cold welders are also available for joining ne wire. precision engineered in-house and carefully tested throughout manufacture to ensure total ▲ The HP200 air hydraulic cold welding machine from PWM All PWM’s products are

The ST1525 spark tester from Proton Products

Lubricant conditioning machine LCM 800 is focused on reducing the waste of drawing lubricant by providing reconditioned lubricant that can be used in the soap with no detriment to performance. Companies manufacturing tyre bead and cord use a lot of these machines, saving on lubricant purchases and waste disposal of lubricant. More than 59 machines have been sold worldwide. The EMW electromagnetic wiping system is designed to give high performance and accuracy of Zinc/ZnAl coating weights. It is used for high to low carbon wires and from 0.7 to 9mm. In many companies this has allowed increased productivity, reduced yield losses and reduced raw material usage with no environmental impact. To date, 87 EMW systems have been sold worldwide and this gure is expected to reach 100 this year. The company’s galvanising lines have reduced environmental issues in many areas. The lines are designed to meet the economic drivers of the country they are installed within. This may be the surface quality of the rod and wire, availability of gas or electricity energy supplies, local

Other the InteliSens ST-HF series spark tester for high-frequency testing. This spark tester permits increases in line speed and productivity with complete coverage detection of the wire surface. Proton Products instruments are supplied with intelligent, easy-to-integrate capabilities with a broad range of embedded process interfaces, including Ethernet, RS-232 and CANbus communications. Optional Pro bus, Pro net, DeviceNet or industrial protocol IP can be substituted for the Ethernet communications interface. new products include
