The new FA-PLW o ers high exibility as the servomotor types can be customised, depending on each customer’s preferred brand and needs. As with all Lämneå Bruk machines, the new FA-PLW is CE marked, and on-going risk analysis and constant testing ensure compliance with the latest European safety standards. The Lämneå Bruk team will also detail another machine. Launched in 2017, the No Twist Coiler for spring wire sets a new standard for bedding and seating wire coiling. LAP is introducing its new optical measuring system, Contour Check Wire. This high-precision system is suitable for in-line geometry measurements in production lines with low production volumes. It enables wire producers to comply with the tolerances speci ed by their customers, while optimising material use. In wire rolling mills and wire drawing shops, multi-axis LAP systems have been established for diameter and contour measurements. In these applications, the systems are often exposed to harsh operating conditions. LAP’s new product line, Contour Check Wire, is for geometry measurements in process stages with less challenging ambient conditions.

In many forming stages, one-axis inline measurements of the diameter of the cold wire already help to achieve improvements in the quality of the nished product and in the e ciency of production. Being a moderate investment and an easy-to-use system, Contour Check Wire is an option for factories with lower throughputs. The systems measure the diameter and ovality with the same precision as the systems of LAP’s Contour Check range, yet are smaller and, apart from power, need no other media supply.
