With over two decades of experience in servicing the cable industry, Indore Composite has announced the launch of its new plant in Tangier, Morocco. The new unit will add to the three existing facilities in India for cable component manufacturing. Spreading across 4,000m 2 , the unit will be fully equipped with the latest technology and high speed manufacturing lines for bre reinforced plastic (FRP). The unit will be pivotal in catering to cable manufacturers based in the European Union, and will o er value-added services such as VMI (vendor managed inventory) and JIT (just in time). Centrally situated, the unit will o er reduced lead times to the EU and Americas: lead times will reduce by 50 to 80 per cent, compared to shipping from India. The Tangier unit, with the bene t of zero duty to the EU and Americas, will o er optimum quality at competitive prices compared to local suppliers. in modernising its existing manufacturing line; the implementation of SCADA has automated the entire production line with minimum manual intervention. Indore has also initiated capacity expansion at its two existing plants in India, and plans to increase its capacity by 25 per cent over the next year by means of operational e ciencies and new production lines. With the reputation of o ering complete cable solutions Indore also plans to increase its product portfolio. The company says that is has always been in the frontier to o er innovative products in collaboration with the customer, developing products like low bend FRP for FTTH applications, and steel-embedded FRP for bre optic cables with higher strength and traceability.
