or triple layer XLPE to be re-applied and the cable repaired. The CRRS is used for the removal of outer sheathing materials such as HDPE, with or without a bonded thin aluminium metallic sheath, PE, PVC or lead. The CRRS has a cable diameter range from 30 to 180mm and is capable of removing 220kV XLPE insulation up to a thickness of 25mm. The model H has a smaller cable diameter range of 10 to 125mm and can remove XLPE thicknesses up to 15mm. H Folke Sandelin AB – Sweden Website : www.hfsab.com

The benefits of SAPs allow cable designers and manufacturers to incorporate particulate-free, water-swelling coating technology in their products, allowing alternative cable water-blocking opportunities to be exploited • Cable accessories – compounds for joint boxes, terminations and cable coating in HV and MV applications H&R also plans to launch a low-smoke cable compound product at the show. This new synthetic elastomer has been specifically formulated with flame- proofing chemicals and mineral additives. The technology brings a number of benefits, including flame-retardant pro- perties and good adhesion within the cable structure. This in turn allows cable designers and manufacturers to offer low-smoke and halogen-free cables as part of their product offering. Today, more than 1,600,000 Schmidt tension meters are used worldwide. Wherever precision and quality are essential in production and processing, Schmidt tension meters are indispensable in production monitoring, quality control, automation and process engineering. This year, Schmidt is celebrating its 70 th anniversary. Schmidt offers a large selection of tension meters. The product range includes both handheld models and online tension meters, each available in mechanical and electronic versions. The existing product lines are continuously updated to meet customer demands. For example, Schmidt has introduced a new version of the handheld tension meter series DT with a tension range up to 60daN and with special guide rollers for cables and wires with bigger diameters. Other developments of the DT series tension meter include: • A large, easy-to-read display that rotates automatically in 90° steps to give the best view. Three different display modes are available to show real-time readings, min-max alarms, and graphs (time-tension) on the screen. The tension meter is equipped with a new force reduced material catching system. For high accuracy the material diameter can be set and shown in the display using a wheel at the end of the housing. • The instrument is calibrated on Schmidt materials. However, the user can now make calibrations on their own materials and can also define the names of these materials in the display. • To catch peak tension values, which are important during winding procedures, the internal sampling rate is 8kHz. The professional series DTX is equipped with a memory of 60,000 readings. Four different internal programs for data collection are available. All memory data can be downloaded to a PC, or the tension meter can be used for direct data monitoring on a PC using its USB connection or Wi-Fi module. The DT tension meters are available with different roller designs and can be used to measure tensions up to 60daN. Hans Schmidt & Co GmbH – Germany Website : www.hans-schmidt.com Hatebur, a leader in forming machines and tools, will present its cold former Coldmatic CM 725. The seven-station former is designed for the forming of high-precision parts with a length of 8 to 125mm and with a wire diameter of up to 22mm. With these specifications, the Coldmatic CM 725 is suitable for suppliers to the automotive industry. “Our engineering team implemented several innovations to make our clients more efficient and productive. With a production capacity of up to 180 parts per minute, the CM 725 is much faster than previous machines,” said Reinhard Buehrer, head of marketing and sales at Hatebur. In addition, Hatebur has reduced changeover times considerably. At the wire in-feed, a linear servomotor ensures that the grippers push the wire forward with high precision. “The volume variation of the cut-off parts is below 0.35 per cent. Hatebur Stand: 15C44
