16 th - 20 th April

Sioplas crosslinkable elastomers based on CPE. Fainplast operates under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. Fainplast Srl – Italy Website : www.fainplast.com Fenn LLC Stand: 09E10-02 Fenn will be displaying its dynamic, highly customisable wire shaping machinery. As a specialist in metal forming machinery for over 118 years, Fenn offers a variety of equipment including spring coilers, swagers, wire flattening and shaping lines, rolling mills, drawbenches, and both pull-through and power-driven turks heads. Show attendees will see a selection of the updated FSL series wire shaping line on display, featuring an operational power-driven turks head, laser gauge and HMI.

purchase orders, and new product designs for special cables are part of the company’s achievements. Flymca is a cable machinery manufacturer providing stranding/cabling solutions for power, submarine, off-shore, special, data cable as well as steel ropes. Thanks to the global effort of the whole team the year closed with an increase in orders. Most orders came from Europe and the USA, from well-known companies with projects that demand added value with special lines using high technology. In order to accommodate the continuous growth of business, as well as the team that makes it possible, a factory extension has been carried out to increase assembling capacity, as well as to deliver the larger machines increasingly required by customers in the high voltage and submarine cable markets. Among the lines delivered last year were three special lines, customised with a 100 per cent new design for a highly specialised market area requiring the latest technology. One of these machines was a six-cage stranding line for producing conductors with up to 127 wires, either round, flat or trapezoidal. It is prepared to produce compacted sections up 3,000mm 2 with a single pulley capstan of 4.6m diameter, and a vertical caterpillar to drive the conductor to a rotating table. The line integrates a specialised automatic bobbins loading system, synchronised with both the strander and the AGV system, to bring the reels. The second line delivered and com- missioned was a planetary line with two stranding cages for 30 and 36 reels, prepared to work as one line for a double layer production; one lay up to 66 wires production or as two separate lines each producing a different cable. All the reels are motorised with a dancer mechanism to control each wire tension to 1 daN, and with large pulleys to avoid a low bending radius. The line is specially focused for the production of super conductors as well as armouring and stranding. The third machine was a large planetary line for 1,600mm diameter reels. It was designed mainly for laying-up super conductors made on the previous machine, thus requiring a very soft tension control as well as minimum bending radius. Cradles were inclined to allow minimum conductor bending. The line was also prepared for laying-up sectoral pre-spiralised conductors as Milliken. During 2018 Flymca will continue with another special, customised and heavy

FIB Belgium SA is a global supplier of heat processing solutions for patenting, galvanising, oil tempering and annealing lines. The portfolio covers bell and pit furnaces for cold heading quality wire and the batch annealing of wires. FIB’s design aim is to minimise operating costs and allow, through its modular concept, the adaptation of the equipment to further upgrade possibilities while minimising the investment costs.

New technologies will be presented including Imflex®, a very low energy austenitising and annealing furnace; an environment-friendly patenting solution for steel cord; a compact galvanising furnace; and a new, acid-free galvanising line. Austenitising and annealing wires in the new generation of open fire furnace, Imflex has shown energy savings of 17 to 25 per cent, compared with the traditional solution. Combined with FIB polymer quenching technology, steel cord, hose wire or bead wire lines have a lower environmental footprint. For the galvanising process, FIB has developed a more efficient technology leading to more compact kettles. Telediagnosis is commonly used on FIB equipment, allowing the end user to take advantage of internal support. As service, diligence and top level advice are critical for the end user, FIB employs highly qualified in-house technicians to support customers. FIB Belgium SA follows the strictest regulations in safety, efficiency and environment issues. Turks heads are used to form a variety of shapes directly from round wire at high production speeds. The power-driven turks head (versus a pull-through style) saves space and material by eliminating the need for a capstan. The updated model was also designed to ensure that rolls can be quickly and easily removed and re-inserted for efficient maintenance. “We feel this new design reflects the company’s dedication to innovation, and we look forward to having the opportunity to share the capabilities of our equipment with show attendees,” said president Ryan Cutter. ▲ Turks heads are used to form a variety of shapes directly from round wire at high production speeds
