Cleaning copper conductors before extrusion

the system is completely enclosed. The solvent is evenly applied to the material using a gravimetric dosing unit that can be adjusted using a digital potentiometer. After wetting, the surface is continuously wiped off in two process zones. To extract the vapours, the system is equipped with a flow sensor and an ex- protected extraction fan. Its compact dimensions allow the system to be easily integrated into existing manufacturing processes. Paramount Die Paramount Die is a major supplier of carbide wire dies to the global wire drawing industry. The wire die systems developed by Paramount contribute to faster wire drawing speeds and improved wire quality and productivity. The company’s Paraloc is a widely used pressure die system. The company also works to promote sustainability by having customers return their used carbide dies to be remanufactured in its fully automated mass production process. For the effective removal of contamina- tion from the visible surface of wires, cables and pipes, GEO-Reinigungstechnik offers various aqueous and mechanical cleaning processes. The mechanical working LS-WST system is suitable for treating soft metals such as copper or aluminium. In the process zone of this wiping system, a woven textile tape wraps around the material surface. The continuously adjustable transport of the strip ensures that there is always a clean wiping tape in contact with the material to be cleaned. The short process zone and the short contact time between textile andmaterial, as well as the low friction force required for cleaning, avoids the accumulation of metal particles in the cleaning tape. GEO designed its twin LS-WST-LM device for the in-line cleaning of copper conductors before extrusion. For use with a volatile solvent to boost the cleaning,
