Line for high extra-high voltage cable production

Rosendahl Nextrom’s RH-W is a metal tape forming and welding line for high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EVH) cables. If used in tandem with a compacting unit and triple extruder group, it is able to produce Al structure HV and EHV cable. Improvements were recently made to the welding unit and system parameters. The RH-W metal tape forming and welding line includes a non-stop in-line process for forming and welding an HV/ EHV cable with a corrugated or smooth profile, including the monitoring of all system parameters. ‘Non-stop’ in this context refers to the welding. The welding electrodes alternate, if necessary. While one is welding, the other can be exchanged or maintained. The line does not have to be stopped and production continues without waiting. The line can sheathe HV and EHV cables with a welding tube diameter of up to 200mm. The production of such a cable is demanding, since the cable is large
