Mixer SpA is an Italian rubber manu- facturer creating compounds for cable producers, including CV line and e-Beam cross-linkable materials, both for insulation and sheathing, as well as thermoplastic beddings. The product brand Ekopren® covers a portfolio of grades in pellet form for several applications, from industrial to building cables, automotive and offshore sectors, windmills and marine industry. The range also includes customised rubber-based solutions, developed to support customers and meet special international specifications. Founded in 1996, the company is focused on providing effective solutions exclusively for the cable industry. Key factors for Mixer, which represent an added value to cable manufacturers, are the development of new products with high technological and innovative potential, the constant support to customers and the ongoing scientific
research, solutions for the development of clients’ businesses. In 2016, the company presented a paper at IWCS 2016 studying the development and properties of TPV compounds for application in medium voltage cables [Galanti A, Dossi S, Magri A, Cardelli C, TPV based insulation for medium voltage applications. IWCS. 2016; 351-3577]. Investigating this new class of compounds, it was possible to determine a relationship between ultimate properties of the materials and providing

their microscopic structure [Ciardelli, F, Dossi, S, Galanti, A, Magri, A, Riolo, S. Molecular evolution during dynamic vulcanization of polyolefin mixtures for lead‐free thermoplastic vulcanized. Polym Adv Technol. 2020; 31: 864– 872]. Although it was only recently published, the paper raised the attention of the scientific community, being awarded as a key scientific research by the committee of Advances in Engineering.
The document was selected as an important contribution to the academic community, capable of inspiring new research content. Mixer SpA will continue to contribute to scientific advancement with regard to the processing, the properties and the structure of rubber-based compounds. Mixer SpA www.mixercompounds.com
