90 years of August Strecker – a success story “made in Germany” This year, August Strecker GmbH & Co is celebrating its 90 th anniversary. Its first patent was filed in the founding year of 1933, and in the following years the production programme was constantly expanded and sales markets enlarged. The company’s wide-ranging portfolio includes welding machines for diverse applications in the wire and cable industry. Wires with diameters as small as 0.04mm are welded for the electronics industry, but Strecker can also supply the right welding machine for solid wires up to 60mm in diameter. In its anniversary year, Strecker will present new products such as the LP10 soldering gun for manufacturers of high voltage transformers, and the MK1200-FPC, designed to allow producers of submarine cables to connect conductors up to a cross-section of 3,500mm² (Ø 67mm). Strecker exports to more than 110 countries around the world, with around 60 per cent of production remaining in Europe. A network of more than 40 foreign representatives supports sales and ensures close customer contact. In addition to manufacturing welding machines, Strecker’s scope of supply includes technical consultancy prior to and after purchase; commissioning and personnel training at
worldwide locations; and support in solving complex tasks related to welding and process optimisation. Many issues can be resolved promptly via remote maintenance, often eliminating the need for a costly site visit by a service engineer. Customers with time-critical production can book service packages with Strecker to ensure fast and reliable support almost around the clock, every day of the week. For nearly 60 years, managing director Rainer Stock shaped the development and growth of the company with his experience and technological competence. Since his death in 2022, his son Michael Stock has been managing the family business, supported by Sigrun Möbus, Uwe Hastrich and Kim Schmitt.
