Focus moves to Asia Hot on the heels of the successful and much anticipated wire exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, the focus firmly moves to the Asian market with the staging of wire China in September and wire Southeast Asia in October. The wire and cable industries – described as the“blood vessels”and“nerve” in an ever-expanding Chinese market – have seen massive growth in the region over the last 20 years. Investment and expansion have been consistently high and have seen wire and cable manufacturers grow in direct relation to those investments. Similarly, Bangkok in Thailand provides a bustling backdrop to the staging of wire Southeast Asia. Long recognised as one of the main authoritative exhibitions in the region, BITEC in Thailand’s capital city will welcome visitors from far and wide during October as the region again comes into the spotlight. You can catch up with some of the exhibitors with editorials spread throughout this issue of EuroWire . Also taking its share of the spotlight in this issue is the IWCS Cable and Connectivity Forum, being staged in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, from 10 to 13 October. Split between a table-top exhibition and conference, IWCS technical papers provide an insight into the future workings of cable and wire. And a good example of worldwide activity can be found on page 10 with Spanish company Delta Tecnic highlighting a 12 per cent growth in revenue last year, as well as more than 20 per cent increase in turnover in the first four months of 2022. The company has made strong inroads into the Asian market – specifically India – and since opening a new masterbatch plant in Mexico in 2020, has targeted the Americas market with this investment.
