New in-line induction wire preheater range

interface allows the connection of an external temperature measuring system that can be placed directly at the entrance to the extruder for the most accurate wire temperature recording. Three models are available, with heating powers of 8, 16 and 25kW, each accommodating a different range of wire diameters. Maximum line speed is 2,500m/min (1,700m/min for the 25kW model). The systems all feature an Ethernet TCP/IP service interface, plus one optional host interface – serial RS 232/422/485, Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus DP, Profinet or Ethernet/IP. Zumbach’s Autac 300 is used for tempera ture measurement and control in applica tions with conductor preheaters or post annealing re-heat stages. The system con sists of a sensor and a processor display unit, and uses the convective heat flow principle to provide precise non-contact temperature measurement from 10 to 300°C on wires and cables in a 0.2 to 7mm diameter range.

Zumbach Electronic has launched an in line inductive wire preheater range based on a new intelligent induction power controller, ensuring stable and linear heating of the conductor. Repeatable and uniform conductor temperatures help shorten start-up times and reduce scrap production. The range includes the Visu-Touch PoE (Power over Ethernet) operator screen. The rugged and compact 7" capacitive touch-screen allows VESA mount installation for flexible positioning at the required location. The system provides recipes for 20 different materials – three fixed and 17 configurable to define custom materials with their specific composition details and heating requirements.
