India-based Wire Technologies designs TW dies in PCD, VNT nano and carbide, to draw aluminium strands to produce ACCC, ACSS, ACFR and ACSR conductors (trapezoidal wire) to ASTM standards, as approved by most power grid corporations around the world. The company says that its trapezoidal wire (TW) dies are designed to ensure accurate quality parameters, to obtain aluminium strands that are shaped to provide a smooth outer surface that can meet appli cable ASTM standards. The dies are made from high-quality raw materials that ena ble them to be both efficient and durable. For smaller-diameter conductors, Ajex & Turner’s trapezoidal-shape dies can be enlarged to provide a greater cross sectional area of aluminium. The company also produces sector dies of any size and design. Ajex & Turner’s shape dies for any type of metal are manufactured using PCD/ carbide/Nano. The sector shape, TW and Z-shape dies are used for compacting, bunching and stranding lines. This kind of conductor is used in the wire design and cable manufacturing industries, among other areas. The company’s hardened steel sector rollers/compacting rollers are produced as per conductor designs, and include 3, 3.5 and 4mm core sector shape compaction rollers for 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185, 240, 300 or 400mm 2 in 60°, 90° and 120° or to the customer’s requirement.
