New faces at Oden

Spanish link for General Inspection General Inspection LLC has installed another Halo inspection system, this time for a bolt maker in Spain. This Halo is equipped with a total of eight cameras providing 360º dimensional inspection, 360º visual defect detection, crack detection, recess inspection and recently developed bottom cameras for bearing surface analysis.

Oden Technologies, a supplier of industrial automation and AI-powered predictive analytics to the wire and cable industries, has expanded its leadership team. Steve Braig as vice president of business development to launch its partnership programme globally. Oden has also named Sam Cessna as chief revenue o cer. He will lead the commercial teams, oversee the company’s expansion into new manufacturing sectors and expand its operations into Asia and Europe. Mr Cessna joins from PTC, where he was responsible for launching ThingWorx, an IoT platform for the development and deployment of smart connected devices. The standard Halo utilises four cameras that produce eight images through a patented light sequencing process.

Halo measures all pro le features including threads, lengths, diameters, tapers, angles, straightness, per- pendicularity and concentricity with back lighting. Simultaneously, Halo detects surface defects such as dents, scratches, knurl damage, thread nicks and patch quality/presence with front lighting positioned from the top and bottom. Additionally, two cameras positioned from the top are used to detect cracks and recess defects. A speciality lens plus GI’s software algorithms combine to deliver optimum crack detection capability at unmatched inspection rates. A second speciality lens is used to view the inner walls of recesses to detect small chipped punch defects, plating ll and dimensional measurements of recess features. Finally, two cameras mounted from the bottom provide bearing surface inspection. Defects such as cracks, burrs, dents and other damage are detected using GI’s sophisticated algorithms, advanced lighting techniques and a special “unobstructed view” part-handling technique.
