Precision management and control solutions IWCS Booth: 221 LaserLinc provides precision measure- ment and control solutions for the wire, cable and plastics industries, to measure diameter, ovality, wall thickness, eccentricity, and characteristics such as angle, radius and distance for general pro les. Measuring in-process uses precision, non-contact laser and ultrasonic technologies to shorten start-up cycles, reduce scrap and material usage, improve processes, increase production e ciency, accurately inspect product quality, and obtain complete electronic and/or printed reports. Of particular interest to many wire and cable producers is the ultrasonic measurement of insulation thickness and eccentricity in-process. With immediate feedback of eccentricity, operators quickly centre the wire, reducing start-up costs. With wall and concentricity measurement in-process, operators can con dently run to a minimum wall, reducing material usage. LaserLinc’s measuring equipment is typically integrated with the Total Vu™ HMI for exibility in satisfying application and user requirements. Flexibility assures optimal solutions at minimal cost, while o ering an upgrade path to meet future needs. Modules include: SPC with Excel-based reports, closed-loop control, special measurements such as multi-strand and corrugated product diameter, FFT for identifying periodic measurement deviations, and OPC DA and UA Client and Server for exchanging information with line-control and plant-wide systems. Beyond integration of LaserLinc’s native measurement devices, the Total Vu HMI extends statistical processing, real-time graphical presentation, logging and other capabilities to the handling of parameters such as temperature, pressure, tension and rpm. These additional parameters provide a complete audit trail of the process, enabling correlation with product quality. LaserLinc will show these technologies in an interactive exhibit at IWCS with operational equipment to be educational and instructive. An experienced team will be on hand to answer questions and develop collaborative approaches to speci c requirements. LaserLinc – USA Website : www.laserlinc.com
