Rear light cable harness for new German electric sports car
Hilger Groß is the new business development and area sales manager at Sikora AG in Bremen, Germany. He is in charge of the plastics business unit. A highly experienced manager, Mr Groß is responsible for the worldwide sale of Sikora’s inspection, sorting and analysis systems for plastic pellets. “We are happy to win an outstanding sales expert with Hilger Groß, who perfectly knows the plastics market,” said Holger Lieder, sales director. “With his long-standing experience in compounding and inspection of plastic material, he will distribute the benefits of our systems to the industry and further develop the plastics area.” Over the past years, Mr Groß has worked in managing positions in sales and as QM auditor. His focus was on quality, process optimisation and efficiency enhancement for the production and processing CONVERT Ltd, a UK manufacturer of cable looms and harnesses, has designed a rear light cable harness for a German automotive manufacturer’s new all-electric sports car. The Kent-based electrical engineering company recently completed pre-series development work on the cable harness for the LED lamp unit designed and manufactured by Wipac – a Buckingham-based design and manufacturing company specialising in high-tech exterior LED lights for the prestige automotive market. The next three years could see Convert manufacturing more than 60,000 rear light cable harness for the new model. This would involve making two million crimp connections a year containing cable equivalent to the length of 2,500 football pitches. Dave Lord, managing director, said: “We’re excited to have completed the pre-series development work. We‘ve invested in a new Artos CR11 automatic crimping wire processor especially to support this project. This new piece of kit has doubled our capacity and complements our existing Komax Gamma 255 fully automatic crimping machine and Artos MTX-5 crimping machine.” A Wipac spokesperson said: “We’ve New sales manager at Sikora
