ALCUMUS ISOQAR has awarded Metalube the BS OHSAS 18001, an internationally recognised British standard for occupational health and safety management. The company has also received recertification for ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015. OHSAS 18001 enables Metalube to manage risk and help aid compliance with legislation, as well as maintain a safe and healthy working environment for employees and visitors to its factory in Irlam, Manchester, UK. The accreditation provides the company with cost savings through reducing or eliminating costs associated with work-related injuries or illness. It also enables the company to measure health and safety performance by establishing a framework for controlling and measuring health and safety performance. The aim is to also reduce the occurrence of accidents and incidences by staying abreast of relevant legislation, reducing the likelihood of prosecution and fines.
