There are a couple of hectic months ahead for the travelling wire and cable family with wire China at the end of September followed just a month later by Wire and Cable India. These two exhibitions provide a startling insight into the growth, not only of those countries, but of the region. Both China and India have remarkable growth records, and investment from the respective governments for years to come will ensure that the automotive, infrastructure, construction and telecommunications markets continue to prosper. Indeed, in the case of India, the economy – already at impressive levels with GDP due to grow by seven per cent this year – is scheduled to grow ve-fold in the next 20 years. China is investing 600 million RMB a year into its high speed train service alone and more than 20,000km of railway line is to be constructed in the next three years.
